I have McAfee Security Center and when I click "components installed" it lists:
Security Center
Virus Scan
Personal Firewall
SiteAdvisor
Anti-Spam
Privacy Service
Data Backup
Does this mean I have NO Anti-Virus installed with McAfee and with what I have with McAfee, can I install the following programs WITHOUT having future problems with my computer:
Spyware Prevention:
Spyware Blaster
Anti-Virus:
Avira's Antivir PersonalEdition Classic
Firewall:
Comodo Firewall
ALSO:
Spyware Detection:
AVG Anti-Spyware
1. McAfee's Virus Scan is its name for its anti virus. Do not install any other. Avria is an excellent anti-virus but one should never use two A-Vs. Major conflicts can occur. Un-install Avria.
2. "Personal Firewall" is McAfee's name for its firewall….you should only use one software firewall.
3. SpywareBlaster is great to use with any security product. It just "immunises" your computer againest a few bad web-site and a few bad Active-X downloads.
It is a nice extra layer of FREE protection, but it is by no means a comphrehensive anti-spyware program. Yes, use it!
4. McAfee is a bit weak on spyware detection, so I would reccommend that you run a once-a-month on demand scan with: SUPERAntiSpyware:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
SAS has a free version. The free version will not cause any conflicts with your McAfee.
Enjoy!
